Coinless — Privacy Policy

What Coinless does

Coinless is a Shopify Point of Sale extension that adjusts item prices on a cash sale so the total lands on a whole dollar. All of that happens inside the Shopify POS app on your device.

What we collect

Nothing about your customers, products, orders or sales. The extension reads the current cart on the register only in the moment a cashier taps the tile, computes new prices, and hands them back to Shopify. No cart, receipt or customer data is sent to us or stored by us.

What our server sees

When you open the app in Shopify admin, or a register checks that your subscription is active, Shopify sends us a short-lived signed session token. We use it to ask Shopify whether your store has an active Coinless plan, return yes or no, and discard it. We keep server logs of these requests (store domain, time, result) for up to 30 days for troubleshooting, and nothing else.

Billing

Subscriptions and free trials are billed by Shopify through your Shopify invoice. We never see payment details.

Shopify's data requests

We honor Shopify's mandatory customers/data_request, customers/redact and shop/redact webhooks. Because we hold no customer or shop data, there is nothing to export or erase; each request is acknowledged automatically.

Coinless mobile app (iPhone and Android)

The Coinless phone app collects no personal data and has no tracking or ads. Price lists you open are processed entirely on your phone and are never uploaded. Settings are stored only on your device. If you connect a point-of-sale account (Square, Clover or Lightspeed), the sign-in token is kept in your phone's secure keychain and used only to read your items and update prices you approve; for Clover and Lightspeed our server exchanges the one-time sign-in code for that token and keeps nothing. Disconnecting or uninstalling the app deletes it.
